Every Saturday morning I get up early and head to the RC field to fly my drones and plane. This morning I decided to take my Mavic and fly it for a change of pace. The RC field is predominately for planes so when I showed up and only flying DJI Quads, I was not a big hit with the other plane Jockey's for many months and they finally sectioned off a couple of acres for Drones to keep me quiet.
Anyway, back to this morning, I took off and was flying around the field and having a good time when all of a sudden the alarm went off and the Mavic did a dead stop in the air about 15 feet of the ground. This area is a mowed grass field, completely open with no obstacles what so ever. The screen said to reverse flight and I am wandering what the hell has gone wrong with my Mavic. So I head forward again and fly around and then the same thing happens but this time I saw the problem. A really big Dragonfly had flown directly in front of the Mavic which of course caused the Avoidance system to activate. Which in turn activated the brakes on the Mavic. This is just food for thought in case any of you run into a sudden stop and wander why.
