Dear drone pilots, I would like to inform you about an event in Hamburg, Germany on May 29th, 2022. A drone show took place on the occasion of the 5th birthday of the famous "Elpphilharmonie". There were incidents with third-party drones, so that the repeats of the show (30 April to 01 May 2022 in the evening) were cancelled.
I wonder what consequences that might have (for us amateurs).

Sounds like this was done on purpose, or the pilots of the interfering drones were simply terrible pilots.
Obviously, like fireworks shows etc, drone footage from a reasonable altitude and distance does look stunning, and can be taken from a safe distance . . . and of course in countries where this is permitted with or without a permit.

Not sure if a product like Aeroscope or other such could be used to counter intruding drones, find the pilots and take action, but this would add to the cost of putting on such shows, just a lose / lose situation really for all concerned.
Even the pilots of the "foreign high-speed drones" are losing out, they could have filmed from a safe distance and got some great footage, but perhaps chose to fly dangerously through the automated drones in the show.

If the intruders caused several collisions, and resulted in the crashing of numerous display drones, there is no mention of any other sort of crashed aircraft in the story.

Sounds like an organised little group of trouble making FPV pilots . . . not necessarily the DJI FPV type, maybe, or more likely regular FPV racing type drones.
