Drone Home-Failed Litchi Mission

Here is the video of my "got the elevations wrong" Litchi mission last weekend. The Mavic spent 3 nights 50 feet up in a tree with a little rain. It was all my fault, bout home again and working fine.

Trees are like "Kryptonite" for all drones. Dont feel too bad.

if you must go out on a limb i suggest you branch out and add a little elevation next time glad the mavs ok

I've made my own Litchi mistakes, only with power lines. Its hard to resist the desire to fly low, where the motion is more interesting and the action a little closer. I'm glad to see the lesson didn't cost you much, as mine was also inexpensive.

My question is how you got it out of the tree?

tied a heavy fishing anchor onto fishing line, used a slingshot to get the line over the limb,then tied to thin rope and pulled the rope over the limb and shook it.

Sar used google earth to find where my elevation was too low. He found 2 possible locations where it might have hit. His first suggestion was correct.
