I’ve been trying to do some photos with a “drone in photo”. First, it’s hard for me to even find the subject drone in the viewfinder. I’m using a Zoom to shot a Pro1. At 200-300’, the indicated altitude can vary as much as 15-20’. The contrast between drone and landscape background is often too flat. So I’m trying to find neutral backgrounds, but still with interesting features. So here’s a few pics to share. Any other ideas or personal success?

Were focusing on this same potential flying side by side to capture a really good storm to fly thu with another drone filming it .

Taking pictures to make your drone look like a Rock Star is kind of fun. Nice job

I remember it very well dirk? bit like when you got a screen grab from the hotel web cam of me flying my P2V while on my hols years ago. Definitely need a nice background for that to make it stand out? @dirkclod

A few months ago, I was working with a Producer from Hollywood on an upcoming film project with the working title 'The Search' and we shot a Phantom with a Mavic.

We found that the trick is; stand side-by-side and fly both straight up, then one of them (Mavic) hovers while the other moves slowly up and down till the other is in view. Once you got him, go Tripod mode (if possible) and (if possible) don't go up or down, just one follows the other.

That’s some really great video. What we do is go to the same altitude, and try to get the two drones close, and then go up and down looking for each other. I’ll have to try your technique. Thanks for sharing
