you clearly didn't read the follow up that reads "after they made it back to shore the drone suddenly dived bombed them killing both with its razor sharp props of death and flew away from into the wild, the controller while in hospital recovering from a shock induced heart attack reported that the last thing he read on his control display was "2 meat bags dead, 7 billion to go.."

I remember reading somewhere that Australian Life Guards also use drones, (fixed wing type) to patrol for sharks at popular swimming beaches.
Incredible. The key factor here is how long the rescue took: 70 seconds. We have surf rescues all the time at our beaches in NJ, and unfortunately several drownings each year. That kind of thing could be a great solution to buy time until a proper rescue squad can get there.

Glad the swimmers were saved and glad to see UAV getting some good press for a change.
Just watched the video, sadly after watching Baywatch as a kid, drone rescue, no matter how clever, just doesn't cut it 
Being in Australia (where I live) they now just need to dress the Drone in a pair of ‘Budgie Smugglers’ (Speedo’s). Then it will be a true Aussie Lifesaver!
