So this isn't a show that I would expect a lot of people here would watch but Emily in Paris, a Netflix romcom about an American woman in Paris, features some very gorgeous time lapse shots especially at nights.

The sequences are maybe a couple of seconds at the most. They're rock solid and very clear. Usually wide shots showing the Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Invalides and other landmarks, lit up at night. You see a little streaking of the traffic but it's mostly the movement of lights, such as the Eiffel Tower having a spotlight rotating.

At first I thought it was shot from some high rise building. However, Paris doesn't have too many skyscrapers and the shots are taken from different locations because the landmarks change in relation to each other, meaning they don't always shoot for instance from south of the Arc de Triompe.

For one thing, Tour Montparnasse is about the only modern high rise building in the center of Paris but all these shots are from different angles so they can't all have been shot from that one high rise.

These time lapse shots are in almost every episode, sometimes more than once and usually between scenes. They also them going from day to night or vice versa.

Maybe they found a day with absolutely no wind or they did some heavy stabilization in post, but they're all sharp and steady and smooth.

In a couple of episodes, you see movement so you know they're drone shots but the most used shots are made to look like they're not drone shots in that there's no movement but clearly they're being taken from up high.

Anyone seen the show?
