Drone Simulator/Video Game?

So I went with a different game on PlayHop. It got great reviews. It's call DRL Simulator. I'll be honest here. I can't fly these things. I literally can't even get through the tutorial. I can't see any conceivable way, that a drone like some they make you fly in the tutorials can even exist, from a control standpoint.
But it's supposed to be super realistic. I guess if this is even remotely what flying FPV drones is like... Count me out.
Yeah its kinda hard the first 10 attempts but the more I tried, the further I got in the tutorial.

With the first tier, everything was fairly straight forward. It flew much like my drone. I think the "hover", or lack thereof, is key to where everything went wrong when I moved to training tier 2. All it asked me to do was fly a simple S curve. After at least 50 tries I have given up. I either couldn't stay close enough to the line. Or crossed over it. It was totally alien to me. Which quite strange as I've played video games since home consoles became a thing. If FPV drones fly anything like this game portrays them to; I need to stay well clear of them for my wallets sake. I may fiddle with it some more, but unless something clicks, and I have some sort of epiphany... I just cannot do it.

Flying FPV is NOTHING like flying a camera drone flying in ACRO means your drone will not automatically level nor will it hover. You have to do all that yourself. It takes plenty of practice to do it and many hours on the simulator before you are ready to Fly the real thing. Its a different world. BUT
And This is important.
IF you don't do it You are missing out on the best and most addictive activity this hobby has to offer. The FPV hobby has taken me from complete frustration to I cant wait to get out there and FLY!!! I have not tried the sim you have BUT any sim using a game controller is gonna give you problems from the start SO get a real controller of some kind. Give it time. approach it slowly just get the drone off the ground and simply try to hover it at first. We all started somewhere. Now
How do you fly FPV?!: I cant tell you. That it is something that just "comes" to you by feel. Each day you practice it will just seem to get easier until one day you are racing the gates. I’ve been really enjoying drone simulators lately. They’re a fantastic way to improve flying skills without the risk of crashing an actual drone. If you're looking for something fun and engaging, there are some great video game options out there. For those who enjoy games that require precision and strategy, I recently found an interesting app related to gaming and drones. One more tip go to Youtube and watch some videos from the likes of Bardwell
Agree! It really is a whole different experience compared to traditional camera drones. The challenge of mastering manual controls adds a rewarding layer to the hobby. I completely agree that practice is key, and using a proper controller can make a big difference in developing those crucial skills. For those just starting, patience is essential. It can feel frustrating at first, but that moment when everything clicks is incredibly satisfying. Watching tutorials, like those from Bardwell, can also provide valuable insights and tips.

i made a small game that is like flying a drone and you can play it with a gamepad
let me know what you think
