"Dronie" shot - What's going on?

I tried out the dronie quick shot today. I thought it was supposed to go up in a fixed angle. Turns out it goes way back from the set height and then goes up. Is that normal, any way to customize it to go up sooner? I almost crashed because of that.

Nope that's what it's made for and can't be customized except for the target distance.

Thanks god I have no used for all that crap, I'll just do it manually if needed and I'm all 100% in control of the flight. I know that it's hard and difficult to do it but hey @ least I'm in control.JMOHO

Totally agree, such an easy shot to do manually. I use it for selfie shots when traveling, so it will look stupid if I'm there focusing on the controller lol

Dronie is probably the easiest out of the quick shots to do manually. It's a blast in sport mode.
