I have a ESC error, can’t take off.
I just received it as a damaged untested drone.
There was a small stone in tge front right motor. Before clearing the coils I had not powered it on to check status with controller.

I found a wire severed on a coil and I superglued it then applied some conductive paint on the area.
I powered up the drone and found the ESC error, it does not have a number also.

Is the coil repair not a good repair? Does this motor condition throw an ESC error? Is the wire insulated that is the coil? I would believe per the pic attached that if insulated the conductive paint could be messing with the ohms of the coil since it crosses several courses.IMG_6994.jpeg

Been following your trips down fix-it lane for a while now. Got to admit... I'm impressed with your singlemindedness, but most of what you're trying is very Heath-Robinson.

The one thing I do know is that drone components are precision parts that make up the airframe of a flying vehicle that weighs the best part of a kilogram (mav 2 zoom: 905grms). If the motor's shot: a bit of glue and conductive paint won't cut the mustard. Buy a new(er) motor and replace like for like... you might end up with a working drone that is actually safe to fly.

Best to swap the motor. Repair won’t be safe in the air.

If that's the Mavic pro 2 you have been working on......an arm With motor, is 40 bucks. just sayin.

I had never heard of Heath-Robinson. You made my day and I agree. Hind sight is wonderful as your drone sits in pieces on the ground.

Even if you change the motor you may see that the ESC error remains... with a stone in the motor making that coil damage it's possible the ESC burned up. Forcing a rotating electrical motor to dead halt usually cause other components to give up.

Yepper. I did receive an arm with motor.
I Hope the damaged motor is causing the error.
Good chance? I don't know if the motor ever seized.
Are ESC a component part or I must buy a main board?

The ESC on the mavic 2 series is a separate component. Your motor is most likely the culprit. I would change the arm first and see what that does.

Getting set to install motor as soon as heat shrink tubing arrives.
Doing it without opening the drone.

Update, tubing arrived, I spiced in the motor and all errors cleared up. ESC normal. Props spin and can take off.
