Extention lead for mini

Hi had phantom when they first came out 7 years ago but sold now have mini have extention for pad but want to use my Huawei p20 pro with it works fine with short lead supplied have brought couple of extention lead but only charge and usb settings won't change in phone sam with samsung s8 any no why or lead that will work
