Yes , They had a signup at the EAA to volunteer for testing of that system.

I would say that in the last 12 months, the FAA has worked very hard to get out in front of this rapidly expanding industry. LAANC itself, is a great example of just how hard and fast they have worked, and that is not 'business as usual' for them. And I don't mean that as a slight in any way toward the FAA. It is a very large agency with a multi-layered command structure, and this means that everything takes a very long time to go from idea to implementation.

Could add a big safety component to drone flying that is sorely missing.
