I debated filling in the green grassy area with content-aware fill to make the field all hay but decided to leave it in. Would you have removed the green area?

I wouldn't have bothered. I would have just cropped the photo to exclude the green triangles in the upper corners.
Having said that, I don't see anything wrong with those areas being included. If you're going for the cool geometric patterns, then perhaps going higher and shooting straight down would get you the desired effect. Just a thought.

Interesting. I think it looks fine as is. I posted a couple of pix a month or so ago and took the decision to show both but I like the cropped one more. Apologies to those who have seen these!
