I just downloaded and installed the latest Mavic 4 Pro firmware v01.00.0500 onto my Mavic 4 Pro drone, creator version with the 512 GB internal storage. Prior to this upgrade the drone worked flawlessly. But after the upgrade, I cannot get any photos or videos off of the internal or SD media. If I connect the drone to my Windows 11 or Windows 10 PC, I get a message that the drives are not formatted. If I format them from the drone, and take a few pictures, I can not access the media either from a PC or by removing the memory card and inserting it into a USB reader and into my PC. Inserting the USB reader into the PC with the memory card within it, I just get the same error message that the media needs to be formatted. So I connected the drone to my PC and using the DJI Assistant software, I downgraded to the next lowest version that I was presented with, v01.00.0300. This did not fix the problem. I still can't get the media off of either the internal or SD media. The photos are there, and I can transfer them to my phone and then to my computer, and they are fine. But I can't get them off in the usual manner. Does anybody have any suggestions? Anybody else updated to this firmware and not have this problem?

Is there a D-Log M file on the SD card or internal drive? Did you format the drives with DJI Fly? I had a similar problem but only associated with D-LogM files. No issues with only picture files. I am on .0400. Try formatting your SD and internal with your PC.

I have formatted the drives many times using DJI Fly. I have also formatted the SD card with the computer via a USB card reader. When I plug the drone into the PC and get a message that the drone drives need to be formatted, attempting to do so -- fails. There are only a couple test photos on the drives for testing purposes. No video files of any type. I didn't have any of these problems before I upgraded the firmware. All was working normally. When I plug the drone into the computer and get the message that the card needs formatting, removing the card and placing it into my USB card reader, I also get the message that the card needs formatting. Then, if I format the card within the USB reader, the card works normally, until I place it into the drone again. Then it becomes unmountable/unreadable to either of my two PCs running Windows 10 or 11. Its as though the drone is messing up the formatting on the card for a computer to read, although the drone can read it fine.

iPhone or Android phone? The iPhone BT transfer didn't work before. Maybe in fixing it, if they did, they screwed up the usual manner, assuming this is related to the FW update.

My issue was a little different. It had the same message but only when there was a D-LogM file on the drive. It was on 2 different M4P Cteator's. My workaround was to format on PC.
Format issue with D-LogM

You should be able to dowgrade your firmware to previous version you had there, using DJI Assistant 2 software. If you do so, I am wondering if this SD card issue goes away?

I did do this and it did not solve the problem. I' downgraded and re-upgraded again. Still didn't solve the problem.

I think I have fixed the problem. Rather than formatting the media using the drone controller, instead, I ignored what I read online about using the computer to format the media and did format the drone's media while attached to my PC via USB. It worked. The drone now retains access to the media over subsequent shut-downs and restarts of the drone. I know I tried this earlier, but got an error that the PC wasn't able to format the media. But the final time I tried it it worked and now so does my ability to retrieve files from the drone.

Glad you got it resolved. That is what I found with my issue. Would be nice to get a real fix. Being able to format from the controller in the field would be a plus.
