While Charlie Brown may have had to deal with the kite eating tree, I managed to find our town's drone eating tree. That is to say it was my own fault. I thought I was clear of the only tree of any significant height within a 50 yard radius, Alas it wasn't so. The aircraft was caught in one of the upper branches and it's flight was brought to an immediate halt. Thankfully, after making a few phone calls I got in touch with our town's commercial electrical contractor who was able to use a pole to bring the thing down safely. The drone was retrieved with little to no damage, just a chipped prop, and I was back in the air in minutes, with me a little wiser.
I don't have footage of the crash since I wasn't recording at the time and I wasn't thinking about taking pictures while my drone was in the tree, but I do have some pretty decent footage from the flight.
Definitely going to have to adjust gimbal speed though.
