Mini pro4 lost in woods.

Hi,
3rd outing with my Mini pro4.
The first flight was good, I was learning to steer round trees etc.
Second flight, I decided to go along a kind of clear tube in the trees, and into a field, then when I turned round. Just then the low battery warning sounded. I couldn't find the tube, so I tried to go over the top of the trees, but I'd set the altitude too low, so I tried to make my way back though holes, but hit something, and lost it. I tried the last location, and the 'make a sound' app, but it wouldn't contact the drone, and I couldn't find it.

Looking at the handset, it has video of the event, so I should be able to go to where the video ends.

I had something similar happen to mine. I was filing above a creek bed in the woods when the low battery alarm on mind sounded and it tried to RTH ( home was ten feet away ). My M4P danced a jig trying to find its way around the numerous branches that were in that area, it was actually kind of impressive. Eventually I was able to get control of it and guide it down safely.


That episode gave me some confidence in its obstacle avoidance ability and I had it " follow me " around my property. OA failed during that walk unfortunately. No damage was done, but I won't be doing that again, and once the timer tells me I have 10-12 minutes of flight left, it's coming home.

I presume there's a setting for return to home time, I haven't found it yet.

Anyway, I followed the video, and where I was searching yesterday was a long way away. Once I'd learned the trees where I crashed, I found them, and saw the tree I reversed into, and beat my way to it and picked it up.

Here's a photo, so you can see, it needed careful repeat video viewing to pin point it.

Hi M,
I aim for simplicity in my life, and another site to look at turns me off.
I looked at the saved files on the SD card, and opened one of them with WordPad, and there were the coordinates. I could see that coordinates stopped being received, as it was falling, so the dying seconds weren't there.
Anyway, I'll put the last shown ones into a satnav, and see how near it takes me.

This may be a win win, as I lost my close up glasses somewhere, and they may be where I bent down to pick up the drone?
