Mini pro4 lost in woods.

Hi M,
So what triggers them, please?
C
Any type of shock or impact. If you drop it on the ground from high up, it will go off. On my FPV, if I fly super aggressive, sometimes when I bring it home, I hear the alarm has gone off when I get close because I think there is a sensitivity level 1,2,3.

So far, I have heard the alarm on 3 crashes but each time, the drone landed in an obvious place where I didn't need the audible to guide me. But as I was walking towards the crash site, I could definitely hear it wailing from a long way away.

Hi M,
That's surely not how they are supposed to work.
What if they land softly?
There's either got to be a voltage tap, from somewhere, or I'm sure I read the controller can trigger them, but I would like clarity, if possible.

At first, I got one of these and I would use a usb connector with alligator clips to set it off and then I would go fly. My DJI drone did not have any way to connect the wires but I made us of it anyway. This is the traditional version you are asking about:

This is the one meant for those of us who don't plan to wire anything and would like to transfer the buzzer from drone to drone. These are my favorites and they work well. They shouldn't go off when the drone lands normally or software. If that happens, I likely won't need a buzzer to find my drone. This one works either from an impact or with motion so it knows when your drone has been standing still for too long (i.e laying in the bushes). Sorry I thought I gave you these video references earlier (these are not me, not my videos); this will explain everything better than me:

Hi M,
I see, thanks.

I looked into the ones I have, they are for wiring in to a self built drone, not the DJI type.

So I'm back at #30!
I'll make a circuit that watches the 1st LED, on the drone, so when it goes out, it switches on the buzzer.
Cheers, C.

I would love to do that but even on DJI FPV, Avata, and NEO there's no easy way to wire in the buzzer without some handy work....unless you know a way,

If the battery can power the device for 90 minutes or so, just turn it on when you take flight. By the time the drone is up in the air, you probably won't hear it much over the blades.

As mentioned, when this buzzer was the only type available, that's exactly what I used to do. While on the ground, I would use alligator clips to connect the buzzer leads to a usb charging bank and disconnect it which would set off the buzzer. Then I would lift off and fly for 10, 20 , 30 minutes but the buzzer would be going off and I couldn't hear it but whoever was near the drone could probably hear it overhead. If the drone crashed, the buzzer would already be sounding off. Wasn't ideal but it was fine up until they came out with the beacon version.

Hi B and M,
Like I said, watch the 1st led on the drone battery.
Which means: Get an electronic led sensor, which will hold the buzzer +v till it goes out then the buzzer will start.
(I'm busy at the moment, but hope to have a go soon?)
