My wife and I had a little getaway last week in Roatan for 4 nights, and I wasn't planning to take the Mavic since I just didn't want to deal with any possible issues, and I had not flow over water before. At the last minute I decided to take it, and I'm really glad I did. I took a few flights and got comfortable flying it several hundred feet from the beach over the reefs. There were no issues with security, either at the airport or around the beach area. The Mavic performed flawlessly (still on 400 FW) and I had no issues of any kind.
For a day trip, we headed to French's Key and met a nice couple from Florida. The guy had a Mavic and had just finished flying it. I didn't have mine with me, but it was fun to meet another owner and we chatted drones for quite a while.
I also had just received a set of ND filters and left the ND16 on the entire time, which I think really made a big improvement in video quality.
