500m max altitude gain, that's a lot more than the 120m allowed in the USA but maybe the rules in India are different.

its 15m in India (this restrication is relaxed recently, but it is not reflected on the app yet), i'm using an older version which didnt have this restriction

All versions of the app do not include a restriction. The user can set a max alt gain according to the countries regulation. You can also set a max horizontal distance.
