Is there a simple way to determine the appropriate angle of flight direction to reach any particular POI?
What I do now for flight planning is a simple one. I use Google Earth to establish the distance and GPS coordinates for the Home and the POI. I then cut and paste those GPS points into the NOAA Magnetic Field Calculator (NMFC) compass site then read the necessary flight angle. I then simply use a good compass to plot the flight angle directly from the calculated NMFC path readouts to direct the MA2 to the POI. This approach is especially useful to me when flying to a distant POI not in immediate view.
Any better ideas for this kind of a flight project that may take less steps?
