Flying on Kodiak Isl. AK

I recently purchased the Mavic Pro in preparation for a trip back to Kodiak Isl in August 2018. I am concerned about GPS signal and or satellite and my ability to control the aircraft on the West side of Kodiak near Uyak Bay area. Also around the ice fields near Seward. Does anyone have some experience in those areas in flying and what I might expect with GPS? Thank you in advance for any information...

Your concerns should be no different in Alaska than anywhere else, except perhaps the poles. Your GPS will work fine, as will the compass. I would calibrate before flight, though.

Thank you much. I will and do calibrate. I have high expectations of the Mavic in that area. Our guide uses a Phantom 4 with extended range with phenomenal photographs.
