So, I had a few hours free yesterday morning and decided to take a quick walk to the small, ancient village that is directly next door to my campus in Zhuhai. The last shot is of a 70 foot tall tower that is old enough to have archer's windows for defenses. The village has been somewhat refurbished and there are homes and several nice places to eat, so it is my usual haunt for lunch if I have time. The 4th image I uploaded is a shot of my campus, a place called (ready?) Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College, or as we call it, "UIC". The village itself is some 800 years old and beside the tower, there is a temple, park, orchard, and cobblestone streets. A great place to walk around. One other thing that I need to mention... Around the temple (in the shots with the tall, white tower), the people in the village are quite superstitious, and if photographed in front of the temple, consider it a sin, and must go to their (Buddhist) Monk to ask for absolution from this sin. so, it is important to not show photos of the locals in front of this structure. Hope you enjoy!
