I recently discovered I was not receiving email notifications (not even digests). So I went to the site and found the message "Emails sent to <email> have failed. Please change your email". And the account was inactive.
I can assure you that <email> was valid and I've been receiving PLENTY.
So I changed the email to the same address and got the confirmation (at the same email address) and all is reactivated.
But why did this happen? I lost notifications for however long I was not noticing, which could have contained replies to my own posts.
