You could try over at DJI MAVIC forum . Most pilots there find their way here, but not all.

Do you have a drone yourself? If you have the SW setup you could download the log files from the drone and see if you can find out where he took of from etc... or submit it privately to some of the admins here for them to have a look without making it all public

Unfortunately no, I have hired out pilots when I need footage. I am actually in New York, NY.- my parents in ATL want to return the Mavic to its owner. I'll ask if they can send me the log data, is there a specific file on the micro-sd that you can reference?
