Over water, when your heart is in your mouth, hoping this isn't the flight you have a critical malfunction with.

When I did mine (only a couple of weeks ago) I was 1000m out to sea off Falmouth, phone completely died on me and the controller told me I had lost signal...was sure I had lost it.... It landed 1ft away from me 5 mins later...(I was still crying).

Keep the safties on....its worth it.

A savage way to get experience!
At first I thought 'you' were out to sea in a boat, but it must have been the Mavic. Nice to know the RTH function works well.
Not saying it was your situation, but I remember some DJI information about keeping Controller antenna perpendicular to to Mavic, not straight ahead like when you point a finger at something. I need to remind myself of this when at a distance just in case...

I've just done a 3d printed bracket so you can add your own floatation device. Can land on way if need be.
