Several years ago on a previous attempt to get started in drowning Google led me to a piece of rather simple free software that used a PlayStation 4 controller connected to a PC to learn basic drone handling. It wasn’t game of fight at all. It did not have fancy graphics as I said, it was rudimentary, but adequate for the task at hand.

Now I have finally gotten a drone. I wanted to play with the sim before taking to the air. I’m disappointed to see that I didn’t save the installer and I do not remember the name of the program. Do any of you know of such a thing?

Thanks, Mike, Bethel, Connecticut USA

Not sure what simulator you are talking about BUT Myself and all my other FPV racing friends use LIFTOFF to Practice.
BUT Dont use a game controller with it...Its Terrible!! Find a cheap Drone controller from Radiomaster and plug that into your PC and start the Journey!!!
Liftoff isnt free BUT its one of the best Drone Sims out there!

As an option to a simulator, consider an inexpensive "toy" drone with a two-stick controller. They're a great way to develop dexterity with the controls and they're inexpensive and extremely rugged. They're also light enough that they won't damage interior furnishings.

And after flying one of those around a house it will make a gps/visual positioning drone a doddle to fly.
