When recording video in 2.7K a couple of my recordings have come back unviewable while others recorded using the same settings are fine. I am using a Sandisk Extreme card.

This is what I see in Preview as opposed to the normal first frame of the video:

Properties:

Then I get this when trying to play the video:

Try restarting the finder, it’s like force quitting the finder program but instead of force quit it says restart.

If that doesn’t work delete the files and reimport them.

If you have really stubborn files you can import them directly into the Photos app and then export as unmodified original and that always does it for me.

Kinda weird I know

Apple media players may not be too keen on MP4. Windows not keen on .Mov files either. Have you tried iMovie on Mac for editing/playing? It is there as an app and probably a better better bet for playing/editing than Quicktime. I have used it very occasionally and it does a decent job for free.

Thanks for your help. I was not able to view the 2 files which were giving me problems even after trying Brett's suggestions. However, I reformatted the card in ExFAT and flew another 2.7K video at 30fps and was able to view it fine in Finder. I also just downloaded iMovie.

Thanks

If you shut your AC off without having first stopped the recording, the file won't be finalized. Easiest fix is to just power on the AC with the SD card installed. The AC will see the incomplete file and will close it.
