So far after 2 weeks of use I love how easy this drone is to use and the great pictures and video it takes. One thing I just can't remember to do before powering it up is to remove the gimbal cover. I'm sure having the cover on while it's powering up isn't during the gimbal motors any good, so does anyone have an idea or trick they use to remember to remove the cover before powering it up?
Thanks for any replies.

Only advise I can give is make giving your drone a complete physical look-over before every flight a standard routine, starting with - are the props fitted correctly, then rotating it through 360degs. You’ll become used to noticing the gimbal guard, and eventually it becomes second nature

With the mini I looked at the gimbal cover and said "I bet I'll forget to remove it before use", so I stuck the long stickers that I'd peeled off the drone onto the cover to make it a bit like those red "remove before flight" streamers . I saw someone attached a length of ribbon to it with the same idea in mind.

I did something similar for me MP, it had a gimbal cover & a gimbal lock, I always removed the cover but sometimes forgot the lock, attached a streamer and never forgot again.

When I first flew my MA2, I forgot to remove the cover several times before powering it up (never flew with it still on). Now, it's ingrained that I remove it before every take-off.

That’s a great idea with the ribbon thanks BW1

Part of my pre-flight routine. It has become ingrained in me. I have seen tape, ribbons, stickers or anything to get your attention. In time, for me, it just became routine, after opening the arms.

Maybe fasten a long ribbon to it so it's obviously attached while you're getting ready?
