Gimbal Error 40002 - but Movement during startup is normal

Hi,

the Gimbal moves normally during Startup-Sequence. However, in the app the Gimbal-Stuck message pops up.
Also, when flying, the Video is shaky. When moving the Mini on ground, the gimbal does not seem to stabilze. It remains fixed relative to the drone.

Up to now, I:
- refreshed the firmware
- made sure that there is no physical obstruction (switched drone off and moved gimbal carefully in all directions

What's next? Is there any way to check, whether it is the gimbal motor or gimbal IMU?
And what is the possible fix? Ribbon Cable?

Greetings,
Hendrik

You should first try to blow out any Dust....... NO CANS!! Blow it out Gently. Did you use a can of air? Secondly did you work on or replace the gimbal? A bad cable or connection will give that error.

Thanks for your reply. I did not use Can Air.

But I want to did not blue out any dust yet. So I will give that a try.

I old to did not work on the gimbal.

So I suppose next step trying to blow the dust out and if that doesn't work to Open it?

It would be so much nicer if the Drone wood give a more detailed error Code
One for overcurrent, one for No communication with IMU...

If it has not and it stated doing this on its own you need to try calibrating your gimbal with Python.

Sorry You have a Mini 1 so you cant BUT Try this!

hello,

I moved the gimbal around all three axis while blowing air towards it.
Without success.

Any further ideas?

Greetings,
Hendrik

You can try reloading the firmware but its starting to sound like a cable.

Hi there, I hope I can continue in this thread.

I got two DJI MAVIC mini drones, one fully functional and one marked as "for parts", however it was claimed as working, but gimbal is not following the drone. Actually I didn't verify the working state, I checked only gimbal. It was initialized as it should ( first movements ), but after that, it was dead. No movement at all. When I pushed it slightly, it didn't go back to previous position.
After disassembling I noticed the flex cable was cut on the upper part of the gimbal ( exactly as on the picture above - looks like common fault in this model ). So I ordered and replaced whole flex cable. Sadly, it didn't help completely. Now, the gimbal has its initial movement, but still doesn't copy drone movement. But now, when I push the gimbal slightly, it goes back to previous position ( all axes work ).
I am new in fixing drones ( but not in fixing electronics, I have proper equipment ), so I am not sure, what to do now. If I understand correctly, gimbal should be calibrated only if I replaced it for another one. Also, there are lot of errors after pairing the dron with my phone ( attached ). I would appreciate any help in order to fix this drone.

Thank you.

//EDIT: I found this thread --> Mavic Mini Error 40012 + 30066 after Flex Ribbon Cable replacement
Will try to swap the mentioned IC, I hope it will fix the issue and I will let you know.

Hi all,
the gimbal is fully working after the IC transplantation! 🎉 Thank you for this useful information, meeestake. The question is - is this step necessary, and from some reason important? Like did I buy some not original flex cable? Are there original flex cables from dji available on the market, which are fully functional after replacement? Or was this step unnecessary, and all I had to do was just some kind of gimbal calibration? I thought, you only need the calibration process when replacing the entire gimbal, not the flex cable.

// last question - would you appreciate a video about replacing the IC with some commentary?

I finished the video - hope it will be helpful for someone.
