Ok, so my gimbal doesn't move. What are the possible issues?

its probably because some part of the system that operates the gimbal is damaged

What could that be? The people at DDS said the ribbon cable. I replaced it and the issue persists.

if you use the search facility on the forum all the reasons for gimbal issues can be found
good luck

You might have been better off to just have them fix it while they had it. If it wasn't the ribbon cable it would have been on them to keep trying :) Lesson learned :)

They told me that they couldn't do those repairs because DJI doesn't offer the part and that all they could do was replace the entire gimbal.

Are you sure your replacement part isn't defective?

I honestly don't know. That is a possibility but I don't know how to verify. I'm also considering that maybe the gimbal is good but the issue is with maybe the mainboard.

Hey Guys.....

We did get this drone for a broken arm, esc error & a gimbal w video but no movement

Upon inspecting the drone the it was clear OP attempted to re solder an arm as there were visual burn marks on the esc. We quoted the arm w/ a new one hoping will do the trick however got same esc error.... OP declined the gimbal swap being it had video and cost $400, Next tried an esc swap with a new one but same esc error. That leaves the mainboard (may have shorted due to the burnt esc) which DJI Does NOT sell as a part.

This was not an economical repair as after labor & parts you were in the new drone cost territory. We than sent back w the repaired arm.

As far as why the gimbal is not moving is trial an error, could be one of the many gimbal components went bad during the crash or the mainboard which we dont have to even test.

Still have to deal w the esc error which wont let the motors start even if you get gimbal movement.

Wish we could've fixed for the $79 that we initially quoted that was refunded

Sry but this seems like a total loss

I was thinking if I can at least get the gimbal working, I can get decent money for it.

Thank you @DDS for the back story.

Sounds like this unit has several different issues all working against @BSauce955. It may be time to cut your losses instead of wasting time and $$ chasing multiple gremlins.

I do have it listed on eBay but figured maybe I could get the gimbal working again. No luck however.
