So I bought a Mavic Air last year and ended up crashing it in the Dominican this Christmas while on holidays. When I returned home I sent it in for repair but decided to buy the Mavic 2 Pro as a back up in January of this year. Anyways make a long story short I flew the Mavic 2 Pro a few times and even did a night flight with some great video. I then didn't fly it again till once again I returned to the Dominican this last week for March Break. I have the VR goggles but decided to fly by iPad mini .......I was able to take some really good pictures with the drone but as soon as I decided to try and video my iPad screen would turn almost totally white. I couldn't even see what the drone was viewing. I landed it and as soon as I pushed the camera button I was able to see what the drone was viewing again on my screen......so while landed I tried to video again so I wouldn't lose the drone ....same thing happened and the screen went almost totally white and I got a message saying Gimbal Overload......once again pushed the camera button and the screen went back to normal......I have flown this drone maybe five times now and its never crashed. Anyone have any ideas as to why Im getting a white out screen or a message saying gimbal overload......I even calibrated the gimbal again after this happened and still no results.....the only thing I can think of is that after my night flight it was taking in as much light as it could being it was dark and then in the Dominican the sun was so bright it was overloading the lens??????

Make sure your exposure setting is set to “Auto” in the camera settings. Sounds like it’s set to either M, S, or A. You want “auto”
Okay Ill try that out ....I may have changed it during the night flight even though I didn't think I did ...thanks ...Ill let you know how it goes
I'm with Brett, your video exposure is probably still set to manual for lower light conditions.
Gimbal Overload, holding the aircraft or on the ground? Maybe your hand or the gimbal clamp, or the surface was obstructing the camera movement
I got the message for Gimbal overload while it was on the ground and it was not obstructed in anyway...... that's why I found it odd.
A gimbal overload message has nothing to do with your exposure settings, but incorrect settings was probably the cause of your white screen. You can set the exposure to Auto, or better yet invest in some cheap ND filters and learn how to shoot in Manual mode which is dead simple. If you turn on the histogram, you can always see if you are overexposing or not regardless of what the live view is showing you.
As for the gimbal overload, make sure you take the gimbal cover off (obviously - but some people think the big dome-style cover is designed to be used while flying), if you are using filters make sure they are light enough as to not interfere with the gimbal or it's calibration, and finally check in and around the gimbal, looking for any debris - maybe give it a quick blow out. You could try to re-calibrate the gimbal as well if you're confident it is not obstructed in any way.
