Google Photos 360 Panorama not Working Anymore

When I first got my Mavic Air, I took a bunch of 360 panoramas and uploaded them to Google photos. It recognized it as 360 and stitched it together for viewing, VR, etc.

Lately Google Photos doesn't do this ever. Anyone used to use this and notice the change in behavior? I checked the minimum requirements for 360 photos and the photos seem to meet them.

This is very frustrating. Did a lot of web searching. Found a solution that worked for me. I have the pano photo in my camera roll. Downloaded a $3 app called "meta360". Opened the app. Imported the photo. Exported it to camera roll. Uploaded to Google Photos and voila! It worked perfectly.
