This Is Antigravity A1: The World's First 360 Drone

Meet Antigravity A1, the world's first drone with built-in 8K 360 capture.¹ It is also the first product from Antigravity, the new drone brand incubated by Insta360 in collaboration with third parties. A1 combines immersive flight in 360 degrees, an exceptionally accessible flying experience, and limitless creative possibilities.

The Drone That Captures Everything

Antigravity A1 records everything in 360 using a unique dual-lens setup. Together, the two lenses capture everything around the drone. Advanced stitching algorithms erase the drone from both the live video feed and the final footage, creating a smooth immersive experience that places drone pilots directly inside the scene without distractions.

A New Kind of Flight Experience

With Antigravity's proprietary FreeMotion technology, the drone — together with the Vision goggles and Grip controller — enables an immersive flying experience that feels both natural and intuitive. Pilots can fly in one direction while looking in another. This level of immersion enables more freedom to explore. The 360 immersion doesn't end just because the drone lands — recorded footage can be viewed in 360 over and over again, letting users discover new angles every time they watch.

Fly First, Frame Later

Since every angle is recorded in crystal-clear 8K resolution, pilots don't need to frame their shots while flying. Instead, they can freely reframe their footage while editing. This makes flying easier and reduces the risk of missing key moments. In post, users can export footage in any aspect ratio without losing quality, and apply effects like Tiny Planet or horizon flips. Creators familiar with the Insta360 X Series workflow will likely find it easy to use Antigravity A1 and edit the 360 footage.

"Antigravity A1 is unlike anything we've helped bring to market, and it's set to revolutionize drone flight in several key ways," says Max Richter, Co-Founder and VP of Marketing at Insta360. "It makes immersive drone flight accessible to more people, and it gives both casual and professional creators a powerful new tool to capture and share stories."

Lightweight, Travel Friendly, and Safe

Weighing just 249 grams, Antigravity A1 stays under the registration threshold in most countries and regions. It's compact enough to carry in a backpack and quick to set up in any environment. The drone includes a return-to-home feature and, to ensure it's used solely for exploration and storytelling, a payload detection system that prevents misuse or unauthorized modifications.

Antigravity's First Co-Creation Project

Antigravity is currently inviting creators to join their first-ever co-creation project ahead of the global release of A1.

Selected applicants will receive a pre-production unit of A1 in exchange for testing, evaluating the drone, and sending Antigravity their best ideas and suggestions. Ideas that are adopted and added to the retail version of A1 will be rewarded with a slice of the reward pool of US$20,000.

About Antigravity

Antigravity is a consumer drone company reimagining how people experience flight. Incubated by Insta360 in collaboration with third parties, Antigravity develops powerful 360 drones that are immersive, creator-ready, and easy for anyone to fly — whether capturing family moments, weekend adventures, or creative projects. Its mission is to make drone flight more inclusive, expressive, and fun. By combining 360 capture with intuitive control systems, Antigravity is pioneering a new category of aerial exploration and storytelling. Built by a global team of engineers, designers, and creators, the company will release its first drone in early 2026.

¹ The term "world's first" refers to the fact that, as of July 28, 2025, Antigravity has announced the market's first 8K all-in-one 360 drone. It captures high-quality 360 video directly without the need for an external 360 camera attachment. The drone features a built-in 360 camera, supports real-time data transmission, and allows users to adjust shooting parameters on the fly.

It would be great to have a camera drone option that wasn't Chinese.

[a brief pause while we look up the owner of the Insta360 company]

"Arashi Vision Inc doing business as Insta360, is a camera company headquartered in Shenzhen, China with offices in Los Angeles, Tokyo and Berlin."

"Antigravity A1 is scheduled to launch globally in January 2026."

So far, it's just vaporware.
It's only a concept drone.

I have no idea if it makes any difference regarding price, availability, tarifs, political issues, etc., but it's made (or will be made) in India.

Oooh! That's awesome.

"...pilots can fly in one direction while looking in another..." Hmmmm... Someone in marketing had their mouth in gear before the brain was engaged.
