Verified 11 satellites, unobstructed view of sky, Hp established, took off and SE immediately veered hard to left at 3' agl and crashed. Log shows Gps mismatch.

How can you be aware of a gps mismatch at the time, and how do you avoid this?

GPS data will be accurate but…

Make sure you’re not launching from a reinforced concrete surface for one and ALWAYS check your heading on the map display matches the direction your aircraft is pointing. Carrying an ‘old fashioned’ mechanical compass can help verify.

Not any concrete or steel nearby. It's a spot I have taken off from 50 times before with no gps mismatch.
Main difference this time was I had not flown in about 10 days.

Gps Mismatch has been widely reported on this forum and others. Since we can't see Dji's code, it seems we can't be sure exactly what it is, but the most common educated guesses suggest a conflict between compass and gps.

It would help greatly if Dji could re-program its software and cause the drone to hover in the case of Gps Mismatch and allow stick control. Better yet, they should prevent takeoff in the case of Gps Mismatch, as it's obviously not ready to fly.

It would make sense to find out what actually caused your incident before making guesses.
Was the GPS position mismatch message the cause or just a symptom of a different issue?
Until you have someone investigate your flight data it's pointless making assumptions.
