beginner mode is your friend..... it is really hard to screw up in beginner mode

That being said the drone will need to be set up properly, RTH heights, sensors, etc.

Many great videos on YouTube

Welcome to MavicPilots from Dayton Ohio USA! Just take it slow and nnjoy your new Mavic, Fly safe and have fun!

Just fly it. Beginner mode, baby steps. It will almost fly itself.
BE BRAVE PADAWAN!

Welcome! I remember my first time behind the console of a friend's Phantom 4 Pro. My hands were trembling. They still did for the first week I flew my drone. Here's what I did over the course of two months:
  1. Before getting the drone: Study up on the rules and regulations. Take a first read through the manual. If you do not have a label maker, acquire or borrow one.
  2. After getting the drone and whilst staying on the ground: Register and mark your drone. Update your firmware. Connect your phone to it and learn what each and every element on your screen does. Play with the camera settings and familiarise yourself with the settings menu.
  3. For your first flight, take your drone outside and put it about 3 metres off the ground. Whilst facing the tail, gently nudge the stick in each direction and see what the drone does.
  4. Whilst facing the camera, smile and take a picture. Do Step 3 again. Do it until it goes where you want it to go.
  5. Land your drone. Find an open area in the neighborhood.
  6. Practise for about 15 minutes everyday as weather permits. Focus on aviating for the next two weeks.
  7. Start capturing some footage. Remember: Aviate first! Tune those Expo settings.
I am newly licensed under "Part 107," which means I can fly commercially. If you have any more questions, definitely look to here for advice!

Well said[emoji106]

The best feeling with drones is the beginner's excitement. Mine lasted for a week. Now it's all about trying to find a new place to fly.

I was very nervous when I took mine up last week. Beginner mode for sure if you haven't started yet (after reading these replies over the weekend).
You'll be just fine.
