Very impressed with that! I’ve always wanted to do something similar, but not on such a scale as yours. Maybe just writing my name in the sky! I assume it’s done with waypoints. Any other software used?

Hi, thanks for the encouragement. I use Litchi in combination with utilities found on this website. Litchiutilities.com

The mini’s do an ok job but the gps is not as accurate as the newer drones. I’m going to try my mini 3 pro in the next couple of days and compare the results.

@RAC DJI - I enjoy seeing your light paintings and am also curious on the Mini 3 Pro results when you get a chance to test. I'm sure a lot of us have checked out your Litchi Mission Utilities link - litchiutilities.com but l also think it would be interesting if you'd post your approx. camera exposures along with the light paintings. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Russ, I didn’t realize you had posted some of your light paintings for Halloween - nice shots as usual. I hadn’t seen the Jack-o-lantern one before - it turned out great.

I posted some of mine tonight. Almost forgot about them as they were done a few weeks ago.

Thanks Chris, BTW got my M3P replacement yesterday and I’m back in action.

Glad to hear that you got a replacement - thank goodness for Care Refresh.

Now it's on the Christmas. Already have one painting ready to go but will have to wait for the weather to get better. It has been windy the last few days.

Hi, I did a comparison of the same mission done with two different drones. The only difference is I slowed the Mini 3 Pro mission down to 6 KMH from 7.5 used on the Mavic 3 Pro. Even at a faster speed the Mavic does a better job staying on course.2B83AB6B-68B4-486C-A923-5B7541219B07-COLLAGE.jpegA0CF75AF-A909-4E51-A193-98E10330D5A0-COLLAGE.jpeg

Nice comparison Russ!

The Mini 3 Pro did a pretty good job even though it is a much smaller and lighter drone and uses virtual sticks. Did you run them both on the same day with similar wind profiles?

Even though my Phantom 3 Standard can upload waypoints to the drone and has powerful motors, it is not as accurate as the Mavic 3 Pro or the Mavic 2 Pro likely because it can't access as many satellites and also because it is older technology. I have been meaning to compare the Mini 3 Pro to the Phantom 3 and see how much of a difference there is. I suspect the phantom will be more accurate even though it tends to float around a bit.
