Wanted to reach out here to see if anybody owns the DJI Mavic Pro in Louisville. I am wanting to potentially buy a Mavic or Spark, but wanted to see if anybody was willing to meet up to discuss more on the hobby before I purchse one.

I can be a good test subject! I ride a motorcycle and a photographer. Also, a user of Adobe Premiere.

I have been flying at Springdale Church (near Summit/Paddock & I-71) and Hays Kennedy Park in Prospect. Going to Lake Cumberland this weekend, but flying most evenings during the week. I am in east end Louisville and got run out of the Parklands (Beckley section) after flying around for 30 minutes or so. Not a big deal but surprised it isn’t allowed in this park. I have flown at uofl off Shelbyville rd but looking for some other places around town that allow flying. Give me some ideas and maybe we can do some flying

On second thought it is a safety issue with some parks and reasonably so. Lots of drones flying in parks is not safe for innocent people on the ground. I will find a safer place.

I would have liked to fly at Parklands. That is a beautiful linear park with lots of wide open space. So far I haven't been asked to leave any location.
Hays Kennedy Park on the river is a good area. Its close to the east end bridge and a short hop to the river and some cool sunset shots.

Thanks for the spot notification for flying. I had a loss of connection the other day when flying around urban area near buildings. I have my drone set to hover in place if connection is lost. So I just got in my car and drove toward the drone and recovered just fine. I was definitely nervous about it because that was my first experience. The interference from buildings plus add a little distance brews perfect recipe for connection loss.
