Hi everyone, I’m John from Plymouth and I used to have a Mavic Pro in 2018 but sold it after 3 months due to not getting much free time to fly due to having 2 young children. I have now decided to get another Mavic but can’t decide between the M2P or the MA2 fly more combo

Welcome to our forum, from Hauptmann in North Texas!

I can't help you decide which drone to buy, but whichever you get, but be sure to read your manual, and practice "Find My Drone"--a feature not documented in DJI literature. You never know when you may crash and perhaps lose your drone. Don't wait until this happens to learn how to locate it under stress in less than ideal circumstances. We have over 100,000 members worldwide--including many in Devonshire--to help you learn piloting and photography. Ask for help when you need it. Share your work when you can!

Glad to have you with us!

Welcome to the forum.
I hope you will find our site helpful and look forward to any input , photo's/video's you might post .
Don't be shy and ask anything if you can't find it by searching . ?

welcome to the forum ,its either stick with what you know (M2P =GO4 App ) or go for the latest( MA2 = FLY App ) the MA2 is still being developed and there will be plenty of updates coming ,the M2P not so much ,cost wise then the MA2 seems a bargain its your call

Given the time constraints, I'd probably lean more towards the MA2 in your shoes as well. That said, I have the M2P and it delivers excellent images and is remarkably capable, so if you can afford it, don't mind the extra weight, and want the better image quality from the larger sensor and Hasselblad raw files, then seriously consider going for the Pro.

Also, how old are your kids? I have a 5yo niece and she loves to fly my M2P (closely supervised, of course!) and is getting quite good at setting up selfies and her composition skills are developing nicely. Besides the obvious applications for follow-me modes for things like cycling and other outdoor activities, it might be worth considering some usage in a "junior pilot program" as well, for which the MA2 might make a better choice. It'll give you an excuse for more flight time as well, of course. ;)

Hey thanks for the reply ! Everyone has been super helpful on here. My son is 9 and my daughter is 7 so like you say it would be good to get them involved and interested too. I’m leaning more towards the M2P to be honest because of the camera, extra sensors, I prefer the controller and for the very ridiculous reason that you can’t livestream from the DJI Fly app. When I had my MP I used to really enjoy live-streaming to Facebook, my friends would comment and suggest places that they’d like to see me fly around. I know it’s a bit crazy to spend a fair bit more money because I want to livestream but I know if I got the MA2 I would miss being able to stream. Does that make sense ?

Welcome to Mavic Pilots! :) Enjoy the forum!Thumbswayup
I have both aircraft, so the best of both worlds. ;)

Hi John what part of Plymouth are you ? I’m in Plymstock and have not long got a Mavic2 zoom and think it’s great ?

Welcome to the forum. I fly an MA2 (combo) and very happy with performance. We look forward to your decision and participation in the forum.
