Turn off "landing protection". You may also need to turn off "Visual Position Sensor" Any obstructions to the bottom camera and ultrasonic sensors could result in errant behavior or a crash. Your U shaped platform should not be metal. The Mavic is strong enough to at least carry its own weight. Make sure what ever you are carrying is balanced on your craft.
