Help with gimbal problem?

Every time I start up my Mavic, the gimbal spins and jerks, and ends up pointing down, then I get a "check gimbal clamp" or a "gimbal motor overload" dialog on my screen. If I restart the Mavic once or twice it always will eventually work right. Does this sound like a hardware or software problem? Are there any easy fixes I can try? I hate to send my MAvic to DJI for this since it always ends up working. It's just a pain. Thanks
