Hi guys

i'm studying for Part 107 and I'm puzzled by the example and explanation on P19

TAF KPIR 111130Z 1112/1212 TEMPO 1112/1114 5SM BR FM1500 16015G25KT P6SM SCT040 BKN250 FM120000 14012KT P6SM BKN080 OVC150 PROB30 1200/1204 3SM TSRA BKN030CB FM120400 1408KT P6SM SCT040 OVC080 TEMPO 1204/1208 3SM TSRA OVC030CB

I don;t see the bit in red anywhere in the TAF. What am I missing?

Regards

it’s mostly Metars as far as the weather goes, and make sure you know the material, the test is no joke,my test was different than their sample questions ,i missed a question about aircraft approach if another plane was in the pattern, something to that nature

The sample test is good because it teaches you the FAA testing process including looking through the test supplement. It's a great idea to print the supplement, at least up to page 60, (figure 59 is the largest one numerically you need to reference for the sample test)

Some questions you need to memorize, many are common sense, and the rest are just a 50/50 guess.

You for sure need to know the answers to most of the sample test questions as you will likely see many similiar questions on the actual exam.

For each question There are only three answers, and you can usually eliminate 1 of them even if you know nothing about the subject matter.

Lots of chart reading questions including airspace and symbols.
Don't forget to reference the chart legend as this contains the answer to most chart reading questions.

Lots of weather related questions. Know your clouds.

Memorize the antidote to each of the character traits like macho, anti-authority etc

Know the age to test, the age to register, 0.5 pounds 55 pounds, the fact that you can register a foreign owned uas in the USA, 3sm, 30minutes before after sunrise sunset, know what a military training route looks like on a chart and that indicates a likelihood of aircraft flying fast and low.

Remember that alcohol is bad. 8 hours, and less than 0.04 bac

not boasting but i used these guys and made a 98 on my test
Home - DroneTribe
I followed most of Drone Tribes recommendations but didn’t purchase there test bank of questions. I mostly watched their YouTube videos, Tony Northrup’s You tube video and my only purchase was for an IOS app called Remote Pilot which I think was 8 or $9.00
I received a 93 taking the exam this week.

True north or magnetic north?

"If it is in print, it must be true"

Most questions reference true north.

Know which airspace classifications on the chart are msl and which are AGL.

The closet that I got was on the first line "14012KT P6SM BKN080"

However, that appears to indicate broken clouds at 8000 ft not 9000 ft and it is at 140 degrees not 150.
