How does TapFly actually work?

I have been practicing flying with TapFly since I think it could really help me get some cool shots, especially in Free mode. My question is how does it actually know to fly in a specific direction? By tapping on the screen are we telling the drone to continue towards a specific thing the camera sees? Or by tapping on the screen are we telling the drone to following a specific heading? My fear is if its using the camera what happens if it loses track of what the camera sees and starts steering in a different direction. I'm assuming it just picks a heading and stays on that heading but I want to be 100% sure.

I believe you are setting the heading, including ascent/descent, independent of what's showing in the camera.

After all, active track is what follows an object visually.

Ooooh, it keeps getting better. Tap Fly - Free is what I've been hoping for. Gonna check it out tonight! Thanks for that video.
