I recently became an AOPA member under their Drone membership category.
After all, we ARE Pilots & Aircraft Owners. I get a kick out of wearing an AAOP hat to events and asked what do you fly / own.
AOPA has a lot of good info for drone pilots. Their emailed news letter is very informative. Nice to know NOTAM's too.

Been considering joining. What level did you go for?
I subscribed for basic membership. Make sure you ask for the Drone membership. First year is $50. All of the membership info is on AOPA’s web site. My son is a corporate pilot so that’s why I’m familiar with AOPA. We’ve been to Oshkosh a couple times too.

Been an AOPA member Command Pilot for many, many years as a real pilot, but have not joined the drone division as of yet.

Same here, AOPA pilot member for about 20 years. What does the drone membership offer?
Lots of good info in their drone news letter especially from a commercial point of view. I would think you could tack on Drone to your existing membership.
