Hyperlapse circle - drone moves before starting

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is normal behavior, but I can't imagine any reason for it.

When I set up for a circle hyperlapse, I choose my PIO, and all the rest of the details, then hit the shutter button to begin. The thing is, my MA2 flies a fair distance AWAY from my initial position before actually starting to shoot. What's going on here?

Don’t have a air but my MP’s have always done that. It’s setting
up the circle I guess.

Added/ it moves in the circle not away from it.

@basyok it is setting a start point and aligning the camera up before it starts to circle the POI

My M2P does that. It's trying to estimate the GPS coordinates of the POI by moving a bit and checking the change in position of the POI in the view.

Ok, that makes sense. It's a bit of a pain because you can't really plan where it's going to start, but i get it now.

For hyperlapse, it's unlikely that there will be sufficient battery to do that.

That works, unless your POI is miles away and you only want to do a partial arc.
