Hyperlapse speed control

It doesn't seem like we can control the flight speed during hyperlapse? What's more surprising is when i did "Free" mode in hyperlapse, it seems like i am being limited to 2 mph. Is that expected or did I do something wrong?

You can set cruise in free mode, but I’ve never noticed how fast it’ll go because I always cruise at slow speed because they take so long to create. 1-2 mph.
