I need some advice regarding the application of zoom in a hyperlapse, specifically on the Mavic Zoom platform?
Any idea when DJI will add this functionality to the Go4 app? I ask because doing it manually is insanely tedious and cause inconsistent results.

Are asking for the ability to "zoom" while doing a hyperlapse?

The problem with cinematic zooming on the M2Z is that there is no interpolation between focal lengths.

Say I want to shoot a hyperlapse zooming from 48mm to 24mm.
At least for now, there's no way to take a photo at 47.5mm so there's no possible way to do this smoothly unless your hyperlapse is only 24 photos long and you decrease the focal length by 1mm every shot. Which is not practical, as you have noted.

If you are really dedicated to achieving this, it is possible to use video editing software and gradually crop a zoomed-out image to smooth the transition into the zoomed frame.

This can be difficult to set up at varied focal lengths.
If you are willing to compromise a bit of image quality the easiest way to zoom a hyperlapse would be to record the scene fully zoomed-out, and use software to digitally enlarge a specific region.
