I flew an original Mavic Pro back in 2017. Most of my flying was programmed missions using Litchi. It's been on the shelf for a long time.

I recently bought a Neo for my wife, and that got me interested in drones again. So I looked around the 2025 drone scene.

I settled on the Mini 4 Pro with the RC-N2 controller. It's the best of the under-250gm, has a controller that will also work with the Neo, and will work with Litchi Pilot.

Then I tried to buy one. No one has it. Just a few third-party resellers on Amazon, but shipping from China through customs.

I'm less than an expert on the current drone scene. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

You may want to check out eBay and take a chance on one of the drone packages from South Korea.

Camrise (DJI New York) says they have a few refurbs left, but their Drones are selling fast.

The Mini 4 Pro has been selling out. Very few retailers, it appears, have them; even DJI's own store says out of stock. Whether it is tariff, regulatory or the impending release of the Mini 5 Pro (rumor mill August or September), is up for debate.

Good luck finding one. I am only really interested in the RC-2 controller, which is mostly sold out. I was about to upgrade my Mini 3 Pro but decided to wait for the 5.

I think DJI may have a hand in this. I imagine that there will come a time when someone in the Government just may have to apologize and give a few concessions to the very company they were trying to hurt only a few months prior. Simply because they couldnt get the price they wanted for their navy contract.

I must say I am super glad I held onto the Mini 4 Pro. I shed my Mavic 3 E,T and the M3Cine. I was expecting to upgrade to the new Enterprise drones. Nope, never coming here, well not soon enough to be of any use, and most likely be outdated when they do get here. Turns out, at least DJI released an SDK that included the Mini 4 Pro. At least in Litchi Beta, I can use it for some of my 3D modeling. While not accurate as an RTK equipped drone, it is relatively accurate. Gets some artifacts in processing, but a great output for a tiny drone. I must say the workflow I have to use to get it to fly a pattern that is useable by my modeling software, Metashape, is a little goofy, it does work. I am also glad I snagged an N1-R2 as a spare for the RC2. Only the N1-R2 (and has the twice the battery over the N3) can run Litchi Pilot and several other routines. The price of them has gone a bit wonky now. I hope you have luck in finding one, but folks are now holding onto them. I will be for a time.
