If one motor fails, with the opposite one reverse?

Just thinking about the benefits of a hexacopter vs the quad, will the MP reverse the motor opposite of a failed motor (should one ever fail)?

I would think that this is possible to enable a somewhat salvageable landing, but unlikely that a consumer-grade quad would include as a feature.

Unfortunately no. If you lose a motor on the Mavic you're toast. It is however possible for a quad to shut down the opposite (diagonally) motor and accomplish a decent landing, but DJI has not put any system like this in place.
