Image quality on analog race mode?

Hi all.

I have the RE goggles that I use with both the Zoom and with some race drones.
When used with the Zoom, all is good, can not say much of the range there yet.
But in the analog mode I have noticed the image quality is a disappointment it's unsharp and the blur lines comes straight away after take off.
My son is using the Eachine EV800 with 800x400 resolution, I have compared with his goggles, they have better picture quality from the same drone-cameras than my RE's, This on the 3 drones we have used.
Cameras are Runcam Swift 2 and Eagle 2 pro, I have used the DJI pagodas, but also tried with other ones on both the goggles and the drone.
Same result, I have also the zoom functionality in the most un-zoomed, (smallest picture), but I have tried zooming in and out, this have almost no affect on the image quality
Also I noticed the Auto Scanning function is strange, when it has found a signal it will not rescan if I press the rescan function, I can set the frequency manually, but I do not always know the frequency if I want to "tag along", Is this normal?

Do I have to high expectations on these goggles for the analog usage?
And is this "refuse to change frequency after one is found" a normal behaviour?

DJI support is not very helpful here..
