I recently noticed that after an extended period of not using my M1P IMU 2 seems to be stuck.

I tried recalibrating it, gave the drone a few light slaps as some suggested, reinstalled the firmware, nothing worked.

I also tried another orientation on the initial calibration step but that caused not only IMU 2 to return error -50 but also caused my otherwise fine IMU 1 to return -71.

I now ordered a new IMU module but I couldn't find a guide on how to replace IMU 2 on an M1P.

Could anyone give me a guide or another idea on how to get the current IMU 2 working again?

what is an IMU 2? the easiest way to get to the Mavic PRO 1's IMU is to remove the bottom heatsink plate first.

The GO 4 App showed me something like "IMU 2 calibration failed: error -50" and the IMU status also shows two sets of accelerometer and gyro.
This led me to believe that there are two IMUs, each with its own set.

Isn't that the case?

No you then must remove the main board,

I'm really thankful for any input but that does not answer my question. Does this module (which I already ordered) contain all gyros and accelerometers or are there two of these in an M1P and if so, which one is number two?

The Mavic Pro has 2 IMU and 2 compasses. The Mavic 2 Pro and Zoom has 2 IMU and 1 compass.
The Mavic pro has 1 IMU. The single IMU houses an accelerometer and an angular rate sensor triad. The part shown is what you need. Make sure you also order thermal paste and "Kingboxer" silicone to replace any you need to remove from the Drone.
Make sure the thermal paste will contact the heat sink plate when you re-assemble it!

Great, thanks 👍🏻 thats what I needed. As I build PCs quite frequently I do have thermal paste. What do I need "Kingboxer" silicone for?

Its been some time since I put a Mavic 1 together but I think the connector for the IMU is secured with it.
