In-depth review of Mavic Pro extended capacity battery (Hobbitec 6830mAh) - Performance and raised questions

Sounds like a no brainer for an M1P/M1PPlat owner, unfortunately the battery linked by the OP does not ship to Europe and isn't even shown on AE if you're in Europe (can see it with a VPN). There are other sellers on AE who do but they're way more expensive (about 100€ shipped) and have no feedback...I'm thinking that this is because it puts the M1P at 922 grams and legislation is (even) harsher for drones above 800 grams. Not that you'd think an AE seller would have to worry about that ;-)

6830mAh Battery

Guys you have NO idea how happy this battery makes me.. i didn't buy it yet cause obviously the idea to load my old mavic pro with this scared me a lot !
Reading your post makes me more comfortable!
I was lucky to buy 3 more battery ( standard ) not from DJI and those battery are still performing well
but i really wanted extra flight time ( recently ) and i found this 6830mAh Battery on aliexpress.
OP and the others who already bought it , any update about the battery performance? still doing well?
so basically when i have 20% juice left is actually 40% ?

thank you for the post OP and to all the others ! My mavic pro is irreplaceable .. no fly zone no places where i can't fly.
new drones are appealing but the limitations they have put me off.

take care ciao

Even the original Mavic Pro still has NFZ's as circles around airports. It just doesn't have GEO, with its more sophisticated altitude zones and blue authorization zones, along with NFZ's defined in shapes other than circles.

There are firmwares in which the drone can easily fly into any nfz. The remote says it's nfz, but it flies without a single problem. You just have to keep your head on)

I filmed with permission from the airport, but without requests from DJI. Mavic Pro is a wonderful drone with great flight capabilities. But the camera is yesterday.

I bought 2 of the 6830 batteries from AliExpress YHKEMA tactical Store. One won't charge and stays at one indicator light. The other charges to 4 lights and appears to go on with a double push. At first that one wouldn't turn on the Mavic Pro. Now it does but it can't fly because the controller says it's low voltage even though it indicates proper voltage. Here's a drop box link to video when neither would turn on drone. Dropbox

Strange algorithm for turning on the drone. Is this your first one? I can't say anything about the batteries.

Been flying these since the P2 back in 2012. I have 3 Pro's and 4 M2's. I like the M2's better with these ease the Smart Controller adds. In the video I show how a stock battery turns it on. I normally add a 4800ah Graphine Lipo on top but thought these new batteries might be cleaner. I can get out to 5-6 miles with my old setup. The double push to turn on the batts is standard for all DJI products.

Why do you have to hold the second press for so long?

Tried it with different length of push in case it was different. Been pushing DJI buttons for over12 years, lmfao. Got the one that would take a charge to work. The other one (in this link) won't take a charge as 3 different chargers don't see it. Even put a USB adapter and nothing. Probed the battery leads, nothing. But on the one that works I did hover 30 minutes to 20%, about the same as when adding a 4800mah to my stock battery plus it weighs 80g less than the dual battery setup.

Now the bad battery doesn't even light up. Had to open a return/refund request with AliExpress since the seller responded once with send me video, which I did then crickets. The one that works is great! Just got a label from Aliexpress to return. May order a couple more and hope they are OK.

Was again looking into getting a 6830mAh battery and your feedback is a bit worrying, and a recent buyer gave the 6830 YHKEMA battery a 2 star review too, no details though.

How did you get that second battery that was giving low voltage to work in the end ?

A couple of months ago, I bought six of those Ali Express steroid batteries for my Mavic 1 Pro, Mavic 2 Pros, and Air 1. For the first time after several such orders in the past, I was shipped TWO dud batteries that NEVER took a single charge, and are now inert paperweights. One is the Mavic 1 Pro battery, and the second Dead On Arrival Ali Express battery is for the Mavic 2 Pro.

Unlike eBay where provision is made for buyers to lodge complaints with sellers and even force a refund, Ali Express is the Wild West of online vendors, where every purchase is a roll of the dice with ZERO recourse for any buyers that get stiffed for hundreds of dollars as was the case when I failed to charge up those two brand-new extra-range batteries from Ali Express whose combined vaoue is $300 now written off as an outright loss.

Ranting aside, I will in the future roll the dice again with Ali Express because it is the ONLY source of DJI-compatible extra-range batteries that are direct plug-and-play versions of the original batteries, but which offer up to 15 minutes more flight time per battery charge, when compared to the OEM batteries from DJI.

Sorry to hear, where did you get that M1P battery that failed ? Sounds like you might have gotten 2 and only 1 was bad ?

This was the first time that I was shipped dead batteries from Ali Express, but given that they remain the only game in town for anyone seeking this specific product, I will still order more of those extra-range batteries from the same place, UNLESS some wise and tech-savvy electronics buff opens an online store specializing in super-range DJI-compatible batteries backed up with a warranty.

In this recent purchase, I ordered 3 of the Mavic 2 Pro batteries, of which two were fine and worked as expected, while one was inoperable from the start. In the same order, I paid for 2 Mavic 1 Pro batteries, of which only one could be charged up. It was when I found the dud batteries that I also discovered that Ali Express offers NO way to complain about anything bought there, and NO means of communicating one's dissatisfaction to any seller. Despite this major problem, I'll be back for more humiliation with Ali Express before long haha.

Haha I must prove my loyalty to Ali Express by taking the pain without complaint, and while lavishing praise on my tormentor.
